Suspension service
Kevin worked as a suspension technician in Santa Fe before opening Golden Goat. He handles fork lower leg service and rear shock air can service here in the shop, along with linkage bearings and certain dropper posts.
Services and prices
| Service | Labor |
|---|---|
| Fork lower leg service | $80 |
| Shock air sleeve service | $70 |
| Linkage bearing swap | $150 |
When is it time for service?
The schedule depends on your fork or shock and how you ride. As a general starting point:
- 50 hours of riding
- Lower leg service
- Once a year
- Full rebuild
Check the manufacturer's schedule for your specific model. If you're not sure when your suspension was last serviced, Kevin can help you figure out what's due.
What happens here, and what gets sent out
Suspension
Golden Goat performs front fork lower service and rear shock air can service only. Golden Goat is a tiny shop with limited space and therefore does not have the tooling and bleeding equipment required for in-depth suspension service. Suspension in need of comprehensive service is promptly sent out after an approved estimate. Turnaround is usually two to four weeks, depending on the time of year.
Dropper posts
Most dropper posts can be serviced in house. Golden Goat services Bike Yoke and most anything with a cartridge. The shop does not service Transfer or Reverb posts due to limited success.
