Ebike service

Ebikes generally require more frequent maintenance than a conventional bike. The increased torque from the motor stretches the chain, wears out the cassette, and puts a significant load on the braking system, causing rapid wear of the brake pads and rotors. The increased weight and speed of the bike may also wear out bearings and tires faster than a conventional bike. Regular inspections of the fasteners and their torque values are also an important safety measure for ebikes.

What does Golden Goat service on ebikes?

Golden Goat Cycles is happy to service all of the mechanical and conventional aspects of ebikes. There are some caveats, such as bottom brackets with integrated torque sensors and brake levers with motor shutoff switches, that are not considered conventional components. All ebikes that are brought in for service are required to have their batteries removed prior to arrival.

What does Golden Goat not service?

Sorry, Golden Goat Cycles does not service e-scooters, emotos, or Onewheels. Golden Goat reserves the right to turn down any ebike service in favor of safety.

What does it cost?

Ebike service rates are the same as conventional bike services, with the exception of flat tire repairs on ebikes that are equipped with rear hub drive motors.
