Who’s fixing my bike?
Hello, I’m Kevin Miller, Owner and Mechanic of Golden Goat Cycles. My experience as a professional bike mechanic began in 1994 at the age of 14 in a small shop in Milwaukee, WI.
After working for several other shops around the state, I established Blue Heron Bicycle Works in ‘04. After 14 rewarding years of repairing and selling bikes, I decided to sell the shop, now known as Coulee Bicycle Company.
Afterwards, my partner and I wanted a change of scenery and a longer riding season so we decided to move to Santa Fe where I worked for Bicycle Technologies International as a Suspension Technician and Wheel Builder. From there, we moved to Tucson where I owned a small online wheel-building business. We love the desert southwest, but were ultimately called to the singletrack and gravel roads of Missoula, MT.
Do you sell bikes?
Yes and no. Golden Goat Cycles is primarily a repair shop, but I am happy to professionally assemble just about any bike purchased elsewhere. Full custom bikes and wheel builds are always an option. I also sell bike components and accessories from the best manufacturers in the business whether its a new GX rear derailleur or a cool new handmade bikepacking bag.
Do you fix ebikes?
Yes and no. There are a wide range of ebikes that have come to market in the past few years and most of these bikes are purchased online and do not offer any electronic support. I’ll be happy to service the mechanical side of these bikes, but I ask that you remove the battery before you bring it to the shop. I do offer support for the major brands of ebike systems like Bosch, Shimano, Mahle, etc.
